The heart wants what it wants.
And recently, Selena Gomez wanted to know "why am I single?" So, the singer took to TikTok July 13 and used a filter that asked that very question.
After shuffling through a few options, the app came up with an answer: "You have bad taste." And the response made Selena's jaw drop, with her writing alongside the video, "Well thats rude tik tok."
Fans also couldn't get enough of the post. "Well damn," one commenter wrote in reply. Added another who could seem to relate, "Same girl."
This isn't the first time Selena—who previously dated Justin Bieber and The Weeknd—has let her relationship status be known. Last month, the Rare Beauty mogul—who was linked to Zayn Malik earlier this year— shared a TikTok video of herself telling a group of soccer players, "I'm single. I'm just a little high-maintenance, but I'll love you so much." And after she sparked romance rumors with The Chainsmokers' Drew Taggart in January, she set the record straight by uploading a post to Instagram Stories that read, "I like being alone too much #iamsingle."
And Selena seems perfectly happy with her personal and professional life. Not only did the actress finish filming her new movie Emilia Perez and season three of Only Murders in the Building earlier this year, but she's also posted photos of herself inside the studio.
Plus, Selena has been spending time with family and friends. She celebrated July 4 with Taylor Swift as well as Este, Danielle and Alana Haim, with the HAIM sisters captioning one Instagram post from the festivities, "single summer." And the pals seemed to have a blast.
"Sometimes you need to be around empowering, kind and kick ass gals," Selena wrote in her own post. "I needed that."
And if you need more Selena content, keep scrolling to see her throughout the years.
